Web Sites / Pages
For the past 12 years I’ve been learning about the role a designer plays in the creation of web sites. At this point I have overseen the development and implementation of over eight sites as well as retro-fitting of new features into existing sites.
Their role is not the same as a print designers, both roles rely on some of the same tenants and concepts but web pages require a more logical/technical approach to layout, as in function trumps design. That’s a hard lesson to learn for some since they’re not thinking about interactivity on a page. For them, the uninitiated, interactivity begins and ends with an 800 number or a BRC.
From learning code, understanding different development management processes (waterfall, scrum, agile… ) to being able to update and maintain a site with content and visuals. My role has evolved from simple graphics to being more involved with the strategy as well as the tactics behind why the site exists.
Here are some recent live sites I’ve developed and created graphics for:
UMA Main Site | UMA Motorcoach Conference | Bus & Motorcoach News | BusRates
Here are static examples of some of the web pages I’ve developed for various companies and products or services. (Since sites typically change over time I captured these after they were developed so I could preserve them for my portfolio.)
